BASC Tree and Shrub Program 2024 Now Open!

We are excited to announce that The Bancroft Area Stewardship Council’s Tree and Shrub Program 2024 is now open!

This year we have a great selection of tree and shrub species that will enhance your property and offer benefits to the environment, lake health and local wildlife.

We are offering our Shoreline Bundle this year. It provides a selection of three species that will help re-naturalize your shoreline to prevent erosion and to reduce runoff into the lake. They include red osier dogwood, highbush cranberry, and buttonbush.

We are also offering white pine, white spruce, white cedar, white birch, red oak, bitternut hickory, butternut, red maple, sugar maple, black walnut, sandbar willow, and tamarack.

We introduced Saskatoon serviceberry and Cortland apple last year and are bringing them back due to popular demand.

Funds raised through this program are returned to the community through a number of initiatives that help engage, empower and educate about the importance of our natural environment, including the biennial Youth Environmental Summit in Algonquin Park, The Wonders of Wetlands Day, invasive species education, and much more. Visit our online store on the BASC website https://bascstore.ecwid.com

Seedling pick-up is tentatively set for the first week in May in Bancroft. Details to be provided by email to all our customers in mid April.
